PERTH EAST – Two students were on board a school bus when it collided with a commercial motor vehicle in a serious incident on Jan. 20 in Perth East, leading to an emergency airlift.
One 16-year-old passenger on the bus was transported by Ornge Air Ambulance. A 14-year-old passenger from the bus, and the driver of the bus were also transported to hospital by ambulance. All three injured parties received non-life threatening injuries as a result of the collision. The driver of the commercial motor vehicle was not injured.
The crash occurred just before 3 p.m. last Thursday, with the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police, along with Perth County Paramedic Services and the Perth East Fire Department, responding to the two-vehicle collision at Perth Road 107 and Line 45 in the Township of Perth East.
The surrounding roads were closed for an extended period while the subsequent investigation took place.
