BRANT TOWNSHIP – A Carrick Township resident is facing charges, including impaired driving, after ditching their vehicle on Bruce County Road 4 last week.
South Bruce OPP responded to the incident on Jan. 17 at 7:31 p.m. According to a media release, the officers who responded to the call determined the driver had been drinking alcohol.
The driver was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The media release further stated the drive became combative with police while in custody.
The accused, 22-year-old Angelica Whittaker from Carrick Township, was charged with impaired driving, operate over 80 milligrams, assault a peace officer, and obstruct a peace officer.
Whittaker is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 23 to answer to the charges.
