BRUCE COUNTY – Janice Jackson, mayor of South Bruce Peninsula, has accepted the appointment as warden of Bruce County council for a second term.
In accepting the appointment, Jackson spoke of the challenges of the past year, and expressed the hope that “this year is not overshadowed by the coronavirus.”
After Jackson took the oath of office, the first order of business was appointments to committees and boards. There were very few changes. One exception was to SWIFT (South Western Integrated Fibre Technology). County Coun. Mitch Twolan, Huron-Kinloss, completes his term in April, 2022, and has given notice he does not wish to continue after that. County Coun. Luke Charbonneau, Saugeen Shores, has agreed to serve on that board beginning in May.
