PERTH COUNTY – For many of us, the holiday season serves as a time to reflect upon our blessings, and to reach out to those in need.
The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Auxiliary Unit members have joined forces with the Salvation Army to host food drives at two locations in the county this holiday season.
Food drives will take place at the following locations:
Saturday, Nov. 27 from
10 a.m. to 1 p.m. –
Walkom’s Valu-Mart – 120 Ontario Road, Mitchell
Saturday, Dec. 4 from
10 a.m. to 1 p.m. –
Zehrs Markets – 600 Mitchell Road, Listowel
Participating is easy. Simply purchase a pre-bagged donation or select your own item(s). All donations will be gratefully accepted, however the most-needed items include baby food, canned fruit and vegetables, lunch snacks, crackers, oatmeal, condiments, toothpaste and shampoo. The spirit of giving is contagious; challenge your friends and neighbours to get involved.
The Perth County OPP Auxiliary Unit thanks each of the participating grocery stores for their support and wishes everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday.
“As the holiday season approaches, our Auxiliary officers will once again be accepting donations at our annual food drive locations,” commented Staff Sergeant David Sinko, operations manager, Perth County OPP. “I wish to thank everyone for supporting us as we fill cruisers with food in support of our communities.”
