OPP reveals local results of Operation Impact, Oct. 8-11

PERTH COUNTY – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) utilized all available officers to participate in Operation Impact from Oct. 8-11.

Operation Impact is a Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police (CACP)-led traffic safety campaign that targets aggressive, distracted and alcohol/drug-impaired driving as well as seat belt non-compliance.

Perth County OPP members laid 62 charges during the traffic safety initiative:

– 57 Speeding Charges

– 1 Stunt Driving Charge

– 3 Moving Violations

– 1 Impaired Driving Charge

Although the traffic safety campaign has ended, members of the Perth County OPP continue patrolling area roadways to deter risky driving choices that put the safety of all road users at risk.
