GREY-BRUCE – As of Sept. 21, no new cases of COVID-19 had been reported in Grey-Bruce during the previous 24 hours.
There are 19 active cases with 28 high-risk contacts. Three people are hospitalized, two in Grey-Bruce.
Across Ontario, as of Sept. 19 there were 610 new cases, the seven-day average being 711. Quebec had 837 new cases as of Sept. 17. The situation in Alberta is far more desperate, with 1,436 new cases as of Sept. 20.
Targeted vaccination clinics continue in Grey-Bruce. Two clinics are scheduled for Friday – one at the Dundalk Community Centre 2-7 p.m., and the other at the P&H Centre in Hanover 1-4 p.m. Another clinic is scheduled to take place on Saturday at the Ripley Fall Fair 9 a.m. to noon. No appointments are necessary. Third doses will be provided for those eligible who have supporting documentation signed by a physician.
Vaccine is also being offered to all students in grades 7-12 throughout September at local schools. These clinics are not open to the public.
Those who wish to download a copy of proof of vaccination should do so through the provincial system, no matter where they were vaccinated (mass immunization clinic, hospital, pharmacy or other setting) – there’s a link on the Grey Bruce Health Unit’s website. People will need information from both sides of their green photo health card.
