WEST GREY – Effective Sept. 1, West Grey residents have the option to visit a landfill site five days a week.
West Grey council has approved the following schedule for landfill operations:
- Bentinck landfill – Wednesday and Saturday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Durham landfill – Thursday and Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (household waste only)
- Normanby landfill – Sunday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (household waste only)
Tipping fees will also change effective Sept. 1.
The scale fee at Bentinck and Durham will be a minimum of $10; Normanby will be $10 for up to four bags and $2.50 per additional bag.
There is no charge for clean recycling at all sites.
Bag tags remain at $2 each and are required only for curbside pick-up.
Future enhanced services will include plastic film and Styrofoam recycling.
