Panthers participate in tournament

The Listowel Panthers senior girls’ volleyball squad participated in a mini four-team tournament last weekend in Cambridge. It was a single game, three-round affair with a final and a consolation. The Panthers took their first match 25-13 over the Scorpions Shadow A, also winning their second match 25-23 over the Scorpions Shadow B team. In the final match before the playoff round, the Scorpion Destroyers won a close 25-23 win over Listowel; the Destroyers also took a 25-17 win over the Panthers in the championship final. The senior Panthers (5-3-1) will host the Waterloo Tigers at Between The Lines Sports Campus in Listowel on March 12 at 9 a.m., with the junior club also in action that day at 11 a.m. Pictured is the senior Panthers team, back row from left: Jocelyn Newton, Emily Bateman, Aria Koch Nichol, Ashley Peppler, Julia Meulensteen.
