Shoplifting charge laid in Listowel

LISTOWEL – On Sept. 12 just after 2 p.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police responded to a report of a shoplifter at a business on Mitchell Road South in Listowel.

A loss prevention officer observed an individual attempting to take items from the business without purchasing. All items were recovered.

As a result, Carolyn Den Toom, 37, of Listowel has been charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting.

The accused in this matter was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charge.
