Perth County Tourism hosting ‘Tastings on the Trail’ event on the G2G Rail Trail

PERTH COUNTY – Perth County Tourism is hosting a Tastings on the Trail event on the Guelph to Goderich (G2G) Rail Trail this Saturday, Aug. 7 from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Perth County staff will be stationed at trail entrances in Millbank, Milverton, and Monkton along the Perth Harvest Pathway section of the G2G Rail Trail handing out free local food samples, cycling promotional items, and information on nearby destinations. Cyclists, hikers and all other trail users are invited out to enjoy a taste of Perth County on the scenic G2G Rail Trail.

“The G2G Rail Trail is an incredible outdoor asset that we are fortunate enough to have run through rural Perth County. The Tastings on the Trail event offers trail users an opportunity to try delicious local food products and learn more about Perth County while enjoying a Saturday adventure on the trail,” said Ashley Brockelbank, Perth County’s tourism officer.

“We encourage anyone interested in exploring this spectacular trail to come visit the Perth Harvest Pathway for a bike ride, walk, or jog this Saturday and learn more about everything Perth County has to offer.”

The G2G Rail Trail Experience is a 132 kilometre, 990-acre linear park that doubles as an accessible, multi-use recreational and active transportation trail that is run by a group of hardworking, dedicated volunteers. The trail runs through 13 communities.

“The Tastings on the Trail event will provide you with an opportunity to enjoy the trail while indulging in wonderful Perth County products – some of which come from the farm fields you see as you explore the G2G Rail Trail Experience,” said Chloe Klopp, G2G Rail Trail Inc. executive coordinator.
