I am shocked after reading Pat Wood’s Truly Threatening Editorial.
First I have to give a definition of threat : 1: An expression of an intention to inflict pain, injury, evil, or punishment. 2. An indication of impending danger or harm. 3. One that is regarded as a possible danger; a menace.
So Pat Woods, how is a homosexual lifestyle and 2 people that love each other truly threatening to Canada ?
What is this homosexual lifestyle that you speak of ? Gay people are your teachers, your doctors, your lawyers. They have jobs, pay taxes, own homes, have families.
They are no different than the rest of us, except they’ve fallen in love with someone of the same sex. They have every right to the same benefits heterosexual couples have.
If you don’t like gay marriage, don’t have one. It’s none of your business, it does not affect you. Straight parents are the ones giving birth to gay children.
Having gay neighbours, or a gay doctor is certainly not a threat to your life. You can’t “catch” gay.
Just because a same sex union does not fall into the nice little definition that “Real Women of Canada” has deemed to be a “proper” Canadian family, you call it a threat ?
Gay people have children through IVF, they adopt children that “traditional” families have chosen not to keep because the child doesn’t fit their lifestyle. Having 2 loving dads or 2 loving moms is still a family.
Just because YOU and the Real Women organization are uncomfortable with it because it’s different from your view does not make it a threat to our society. Organizations that breed intolerance are truly a threat.
Give us some facts before making such a generic statement. Give us some proof Canada is under attack by the “gay lifestyle”. You yourself congratulated the women ” who are bold enough to seek the facts & share the truth”.
What facts might those be ? What truth are we missing ? How are gay people a threat ? Enlighten us please.
Taken directly from the Real Women’s website their mission statement reads: We are dedicated to promote the equality, advancement and well-being of women whether in the home, the workplace, or the community, and to motivate government to integrate the needs of the family into government policy and legislation.
I guess they forgot to add : Unless you are gay.
