BROCKTON – Save those marshmallows and hot dogs for a later date.
In a Facebook post on March 26, the Municipality of Brockton asked residents to avoid having recreational or agricultural fires until April 10.
Brockton is currently under a state of emergency due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. With that in mind, the municipality is hoping to limit the number of calls their volunteer firefighters respond to during this time.
“We request residents do their part to reduce the number of calls that our firefighters respond to,” stated the post on the Municipality of Brockton’s Facebook page. “This will limit the exposure of our volunteers so they are available for actual emergencies.”
Those wanting further clarification or have any questions are asked to call Fire Chief Mike Murphy at 519-881-2223 ext. 300.
